Dear Friends,
There’s something freeing when we realize we only need to live today. Regardless of past mistakes and regrets, the Lord calls us to focus on living for Him right now. In the present. At this moment.
Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
—Philippians 3:12-13, NASB
God’s grace covers our past.
And when it comes to the future, Scripture instructs us as well. Because let’s be honest — we can worry about deep and superficial possibilities. God points us a better way.
Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
—Matthew 6:34
God’s grace carries into our future.
What is troubling your heart today? Please kneel before the Lord’s throne of grace and lift your concerns to Him. Remember that He has prepared good works for you to walk in … today (see Ephesians 2:10).
And by His grace, you can accomplish each one!
Let’s approach this day with confidence in Jesus, our Lord and Savior. He is faithfully guiding us, teaching and training us along the way. Our Shepherd never leaves or fails us.
As we focus on Christ, we will live each day the right way.
This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
—Psalm 118: 24
In Christ’s Love,
