One Day Soon...
Comfort and hope for the hurting
“And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4, NASB
And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes…
Life contains many tears. Of course, not all tears are sad — some flow from great joy. That being said, tears often cascade down our faces at times of gut-wrenching sorrow. But one day soon, God will wipe every tear from your eyes.
There shall no longer be any death…
A precious friend of mine is suffering the sudden loss of her brother. Another beloved friend is enduring the daily loneliness and emptiness of life without her husband. But one day soon, death won’t exist. Its evil claws will lose their grip.
There shall no longer be any mourning…
We can’t fully imagine never feeling grief or reacting to it, but one day soon we’ll be free from grief’s intrusion! Its heaviness won’t blanket us any longer, and we will exult in joy.
Or crying…
Sometimes we weep loud sobs, yet sometimes we silently cry. But one day soon our cries will be replaced with exuberance. Smiles and laughter will begin inside, spreading to the outside.
Or pain…
Oh, to live unhindered from pain. That’s the future for everyone who belongs to Christ. One day soon we’ll stop hurting — emotionally, physically, and in every possible way. I for one Cannot. Wait. How about you?
Yes, this life contains tears, death, mourning, crying, and pain.
But they will pass away because JESUS conquered sin and death when He died for our sins and rose again. Hallelujah!!! One day soon “the first things [will] have passed away.”
Let’s rejoice!
Whatever your circumstances, please join me in praising the Lord for His awesome work. He’s always busy.
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
Earlier today I texted someone dear regarding a situation we’ve been experiencing together. I messaged, “God is already doing wonderful things.” And she replied, “He always is!”
Amen.
May your spirit be lifted by the reality of God’s work now and His promise for the future. One day soon…
In Christ’s Love,
